EDEX 2023, which took place in Cairo from December 4th to 7th,
was the last defence technology fair included in the project for the 30th
anniversary of the independence of the Czech Republic. The Czech Republic
presented the biggest presentation in the history of the event.
Out of the total number of 400 exhibitors, 10 were Czech,
while the Czech exposition was one of the medium-sized ones, and the panels at
the entrance to the exhibition hall encouraged visitors to stop by. Visitors
could see radar technology, virtual reality for training, passive surveillance
systems or systems for reconnaissance, electronic warfare and anti-drone
protection. The Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic and the Ministry of
Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic participated in the organisation of
the Czech representation.
During the meeting with foreign partners on the second day
of the fair, there was live music in the Czech exposition, performed by a
string quartet.
“The defence industry is one of the sectors built on innovation. However, these innovations are also applied in other sectors and often in everyday life. Not only for this reason, I am glad that the Ministry
of Industry and Trade, together with the Ministry of Defence and the Jagello 2000 association, succeeded this year in creating a project that, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the existence of the independent Czech Republic, represents the Czech development of the defence industry in this very period. After the IDEX trade fairs in Abu Dhabi and DEFEA in Athens, the successful presentation of Czech companies from the defence industry ends this year with the EDEX trade fair in Cairo,” said Rudolf Klepáček, Director of the Department of Export Strategy and Services of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic.
The connecting element was again a video presenting
successful Czech projects in the field of the defence industry, which premiered at the IDEX trade fair in Abu Dhabi and was also presented at the DEFEA trade fair in Athens and IDET trade fair in Brno.
